Beef, fire and
nothing in between.
Four decisions,read off the page.
The booking is on the first screen
Date, time and guests sit under the fire, not on a contact page three clicks in. Ember, the brightest colour on the site, is spent on booking and on nothing else, so on every screen the most visible thing is how to get a table.
The menu is the animal
A butcher's chart you can point at. Each cut says what the kitchen serves from it, by weight and price, and one line on why. A steakhouse that explains its butchery has sold the rib-eye before the price arrives.
Set like a menu, not linked like one
Four columns, dotted leaders, prices aligned in brass, descriptions in italic: the menu as it would be printed for the table. A PDF link is where menus go to be ignored.
Private dining, drawn as a plan
The Salt Room as a seating plan: one table, fourteen places, the dry-ageing cabinet along the wall and candles that flicker. It answers the two questions people ask before they enquire: how many, and what is it like.

Big Shoulders: condensed, variable, set in capitals
Newsreader: a serif with a real italic, for the menu
Square throughout
Drawn: the fire, the steak, the chart and the room
Sparks off the coals, the coals breathing, the candles
